Virtual Goods and Licensing
When you buy something in the Fortshop, an appearance, a profile decoration, a bundle, any cosmetic, you're not buying the item outright. What you're getting is a limited, non-exclusive, personal licence to use it on your Fortized account. Swiftaw keeps the ownership and all the IP.
Your license grants you the right to:
- Apply the item to your profile or account
- Display the item while using Fortized
- Use the item for personal, non-commercial purposes only
Your license does not grant you the right to:
- Resell the item (except through Fortized's Marketplace, where applicable)
- Modify, copy, or alter the item
- Use the item outside of Fortized
- Distribute, share, or sublicense the item
- Claim ownership of or trademark the item
Swiftaw may revoke your license to an item if:
- Your account is suspended or banned
- The item is removed from the Fortshop due to intellectual property infringement or other legal issues
- Swiftaw discontinues the item (we will give notice where possible)
- You violate the Terms of Use or this Policy in relation to the item
If your license is revoked, you will not receive a refund, except as mandated by consumer protection law.
Onyx Currency
Onyx is Fortized's virtual currency. You earn Onyx through:
- Daily claims: 50 Onyx base, plus streak bonuses (higher bonus for consecutive daily logins)
- Quests: Completing various activities (join a bastion, add a friend, update your profile) earns 15-50 Onyx
- Joyster clicking: 1 Onyx per click, up to 5 clicks per day (clickable minigame with the Joyster mascot)
- Friend referrals: 9 Onyx when someone you refer joins Fortized
- Creator revenue: If you sell bots or bastion templates through the Atelier, you earn Onyx as revenue (split with Swiftaw)
You spend Onyx on:
- Fortshop items: Appearances, decorations, bundles
- Bastion boosts: Upgrade your bastion tier (cost scales with tier)
- Marketplace ads: Promote your bastion on the Discover page (15 Onyx for 4 days)
- Marketplace fees: 5 Onyx per action (list, edit price, remove) on rare-item resale listings
- Radiance gifting: 600 Onyx to gift 30 days of Radiance to a friend
- Trades: 30% tax on peer-to-peer item trades (taxed to both buyer and seller)
You can't buy Onyx with real money. It's only ever earned by playing and taking part. There's no direct cash-to-Onyx path, and there won't be one.
Your Onyx balance lives on your account and follows you across devices. Delete your account and the Onyx goes with it, with no refund.
Discount System
Radiance Users (Premium subscribers): Get 10% off all Fortshop items (appearances, decorations, bundles). This discount is permanent as long as your Radiance subscription is active.
20-Day Streakers (Active for 20 consecutive days): Get 5% off all Fortshop items. Your streak counter resets if you miss a day. The discount is active only while your streak is 20+ days.
Daily Special: One item is selected as the Item of the Day and receives a 35% discount. The featured item rotates at midnight UTC. The discount is temporary and applies to that item only.
Discounts stack additively (not multiplicatively). Here's how:
| Scenario | Discounts Applied | Total Discount | Example (100 Onyx item) |
|---|---|---|---|
| None | None | 0% | 100 Onyx |
| Radiance only | 10% | 10% | 90 Onyx |
| 20-Day Streak only | 5% | 5% | 95 Onyx |
| Item of the Day only | 35% | 35% | 65 Onyx |
| Radiance + Item of the Day | 10% + 35% | 45% | 55 Onyx |
| 20-Day Streak + Item of the Day | 5% + 35% | 40% | 60 Onyx |
| Radiance + 20-Day Streak | 10% + 5% | 15% | 85 Onyx |
| Radiance + 20-Day Streak + Item of the Day (MAX) | 10% + 5% + 35% | 50% | 50 Onyx |
Purchases and Non-Refundability
When you purchase an item, you must confirm that you:
- Have read and agree to this Fortshop Policy
- Understand that the purchase is a license, not ownership
- Understand that items are non-refundable once delivered
- Understand that your license may be revoked in certain circumstances
Once a Fortshop item is delivered, the purchase is final. Digital items land the moment you buy them, so we can't offer refunds except where consumer-protection law says we must, like the EU's 14-day cooling-off period for buyers who haven't used the item yet.
If you're a consumer in the EU, you can cancel a purchase within 14 days, as long as you haven't started using the item yet (for example, actually applied the appearance to your account). Just message Fortized Support and ask for a refund. We'll process it within 14 days of getting your request. Once you've used the item, though, this no longer applies.
If something's off with your billing, say you got charged twice, reach Fortized Support right away with proof. We'll look into it and put it right within 15 business days.
Seasonal Items
Some items are seasonal and only available for direct purchase during a specific time window (e.g., Halloween items during October, Winter Festival items in December). Outside the season window, the item is not sold in the Fortshop.
Once a season ends, the item is no longer sold directly, but players who own it can still list it on the Marketplace for resale. Buyers can purchase from resellers regardless of the season. This keeps the aftermarket alive and allows players who missed the season to acquire the item.
Seasonal items have rarity status and follow the same resale rules as rare items (see Section 6).
Marketplace (Resale System)
Only rare, seasonal, and event items can be listed for resale on the Marketplace. Common items and Radiance are not resellable.
To list an item:
- You must own the item (it must be in your account)
- You must have at least 5 Onyx to cover the listing fee
- You set your asking price (minimum 1 Onyx, no maximum)
- Your listing appears immediately on the Marketplace
You can have a maximum of 2 active listings per item at any time. If you want to list more copies of the same item, you must remove or sell one of your existing listings first.
Each of the following actions costs 5 Onyx:
- List: 5 Onyx to create a new resale listing
- Edit: 5 Onyx to change the asking price of an existing listing
- Remove: 5 Onyx to cancel a listing (you keep any unsold inventory)
These fees are deducted from your Onyx balance immediately. Fees are non-refundable.
The Marketplace displays a price history chart showing all completed sales of an item over the past 30 days. This helps buyers understand market value and identify deals.
When someone buys your listing:
- The buyer's Onyx is deducted
- The item is transferred to the buyer's account
- You receive the asking price in Onyx
- No additional fees or taxes apply to resales (no 30% trade tax)
If a Marketplace deal goes sideways, say you paid but never got the item, reach Fortized Support. We'll dig into our transaction logs and settle it from there. Our call is final.
Radiance Subscription
Radiance is a premium subscription that grants:
- 10% discount on all Fortshop items
- Custom profile banner (upload your own image)
- Profile theme customization
- Exclusive Radiance badge and recognition
- Higher emoji slot limits in bastions you own or admin
- Priority support
Radiance is a time-limited subscription, 7 days, 30 days, or a yearly option. It renews on its own at the end of each period unless you cancel, and you can cancel anytime from your account settings.
You can gift a friend 30 days of Radiance for 600 Onyx. It goes out as a redeemable link, and they've got 30 days to claim it. Once they do, their 30 days of Radiance start ticking.
Item Removal and Discontinuation
Swiftaw may remove any item from the Fortshop at any time if:
- The item infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property
- The item violates these Terms or any law
- The item is obsolete or no longer fits Fortized's direction
If we pull an item, anyone who already owns it keeps their licence, so your cosmetic keeps working. It just can't be bought anymore. We don't issue refunds when something's discontinued.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this Policy now and then. If a change actually affects what you buy or the discounts you get, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days ahead. Keep using the Fortshop after that and you're accepting the new version.
